Job Description: | |
| The work is to help my client’s client establish an Ab Initio ETL center of excellence. The customer has several mature data warehousing initiatives, that currently use a mix of Cobol, Connect:Direct, Korn Shell and PL*SQL to perform the necessary data transformation and movement.
The customer wants someone who can help them roll out Ab Initio to these existing efforts as well as help get new projects going with this technology.
Customer staff will likely do most of the development, but they need help determining the best way to use this tool, layout projects and rollout the tool to new projects. I also expect that the customer will look to this person as the local Ab Initio expert and expect them to field a wide range of technical questions.
Our customer may also need program and project management support related to the Ab Initio center of excellence, so we need someone with a mix of technical and management skills.

Qualifications: | |
| Experience with ETL tools such as Ab Initio (preferred), Informatica, Ascential Datastage. Excellent knowledge (expert or DBA level) of one or more commercial RDBMS systems: Oracle, DB2 UDB, Teradata, Informix, Sybase. Experience in database application development using C/C++ on any UNIX or LINUX platform. Strong knowledge of Unix Shell scripting or Perl. Data architecture/modeling experience. Experience with Analytics/Reporting tools such as Business Objects, Cognos, Brio, Hyperion, Microstrategy | |
